The Company / The Idea
N Formation Design develops interactive 3D media
for organizations who wish to communicate information effectively.
Organizations that can communicate more effectively with their audience
will prosper in the new economy. The way that this is accomplished
increasingly utilizes rich media such as video, animation, interactivity,
and simulation. In the next 10 years, these responsive media will
become as useful and pervasive as images, text or audio.
Instead of showing
a potential customer a picture of a product or easily ignored explanatory
text, give them a fully functional virtual prototype to manipulate
and explore. Go a step further and let visitors customize and order
the product directly from this engaging experience. Take a virtual
tour of a remote destination, watch ancient Greece decay into ruins,
or guide students inside an active volcano. Anything is possible
with interactive 3D simulations.
With years of experience in rich media ranging from 3D web applications
to fully immersive virtual reality, we help our clients determine
the right solution for their problem. We employ a user-centered,
project-driven approach to bridge the information gap between our
clients and their end-users. By addressing the dimensions of usability,
price, and complexity, each of our projects uniquely caters to specific
learning curves and information needs surrounding a given topic.

Jamie Cope
co-president
MSI, Human Computer Interaction, University of Michigan
Jamie Cope brings a wealth of experience in the design and implementation
of virtual environments. Both in and out of school at the University
of Michigan, Cope created valuable software for the University Hospital
System, the Virtual Reality and 3D Labs, Washtenaw County, and many
other respected clients. Not only does he have the technical understanding
and experience to single-handedly create a software program, but
he understands the human dimensions of its impact. Jamie is passionate
that, when properly utilized, simulation technologies can be effective
aids for engaging learning experiences. |

A Unique Team
The concept for N Formation Design came from the realization that two
talented people, Chris Landau and Jamie Cope, had the perfect balance of
complementary skills for generating simulation solutions. Approaching
from two different directions, Chris from art and Jamie from computer
science, this team converged upon a common ground: 3D custom interactive
media. Chris's passion for art and design ensures the team's work is
creative and engaging while retaining maximum functionality. Jamie's
technical experience and formal usability training keeps applications
user-friendly and bug-free. |
